For a short time, I’m offering remote and in-home consults free of charge.
Be my guinea pig, get free advice & a beautiful room.
What size curtains do I need? What color rug? Why does this lamp look so wrong?
If you are anything like me, you were given/bought secondhand furniture in college & now you have a home full of every style imaginable. Instagram, Facebook, & Pinterest are great places for inspiration but with so many products available online and in stores, it can get overwhelming fast if you have no idea what you’re doing.
Let’s get real. Hiring a professional interior decorator or designer can be intimidating and expensive. We’ve all seen it. They come in, tell you everything has to go, and pressure you to buy beautiful but very expensive pieces from their showroom. They usually charge a design fee + commission on top of the sales price so your meager budget just got blown out of the water and you’re not comfortable spending so much at one time.
Method to the Madness
I have years of experience decorating my own home & have helped numerous friends with theirs as well. This allows me to use color, composition, and scale to make your space a place you love. I also like to educate while I design your space so you can take those skills and use them with confidence to decorate other space in your home.
I also believe in quality & honesty. I will tell you if a piece is worth the price tag. *Hint* The mass produced carved bench from the local wood furniture importer was never worth $1000, so $400 is not an amazing deal.
What’s included
Game plan.
Using measurements & photos from your space, I like to provide a design scheme for your space that includes everything you need, including: fabrics, furniture, window coverings, paint, rugs, artwork, accessories, and lighting without pressure to buy. You will use this plan as a reference when you go to purchase new items.
Unlimited phone access.
Can’t decide which lamp to buy or you are having trouble hanging a gallery wall? Text or call. I’m here to help with those decisions and reduce the stress you’re inevitably going to have. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. This is a learning experience.
What I ask of you
Honesty.
Can you really keep a houseplant alive? Will you really clean the dog’s feet before they jump on the couch? I want to set everyone up for success and if you fib, I can’t do that.
Trust.
Do you paint a room red when someone tells you paint it blue? If this is your personality type, I’m probably not for you. There is always freedom within a plan but if you buy a low modern couch when you told me you wanted a comfy farmhouse look and ask what kind of coffee table your should buy, I can’t help ya.
Patience.
Know from the beginning, redecorating a room takes times but with my experience, it will go much faster than if you went at it alone.
